Tomorrow, Friday Sept. 29th, HES Students and Staff will participate in "Orange Shirt Day". By wearing an orange shirt, our Henderson School Community will show our support for reconciliation and that EVERY CHILD MATTERS.

HES Students and Staff plan to walk the track at the DRCSS today (weather permitting), in support of Terry Fox. Thank you to all that attended our welcome back BBQ, all proceeds will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.

October 5th is World Teachers' Day! Join us in celebrating teachers in Mountain View School Division - we appreciate you and thank you for all that you do for your students! Have a great day!

Mountain View School Division will be acknowledging and honouring September 30th as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.  This day is to recognize and commemorate the legacy of residential schools. As September 30th falls on a Saturday, schools may be hosting events and activities on Friday, September 29th. Please click on the above link for more information and for some suggested resources.

Education must be a key priority in the provincial general election, which is scheduled to take place on October 3rd, 2023. Lawn signs, similar to the above photo, will be available this week for pick up at your local school or the MVSD Admin Office. In honour of School Support Staff Recognition Week (Sep. 25-29, 2023), as proclaimed by the Minister of Education, a sincere "thank you" is extended to all support staff in MVSD for the valuable work they do in our schools and in supporting the education of our students!

Good Morning HES Families, 


It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the 2023-2024 School Year.  We have had an excellent start to the morning, with so many smiles from all. 


We will be utilizing "See Saw" again as our online communication platform.  You will be receiving information on how to set-up accounts to communicate with your children's homeroom teacher.  


We are fortunate that HES will have the capacity to offer a nutrition program prior to school starting.  This program runs from 8:30am - 8:45am, where those students that wish to have a light snack before school starts are welcome to come in the main entrance to access.  This program will begin on Monday Sept. 11th, 2023.


Finally, please se the attachment to see the doors your children will be accessing to enter/exit the school.  If your child is going to be late, and arrive after 9am, please use the main entrance.  All entrances/exits remain locked through the school day, and the only access is the main door - please ring the buzzer and someone will assist you.  


If you pick your child up at the end of the day, please ensure you have an established meeting point with them.  Also a reminder if you are in a vehicle, to ensure you only park on the one designated side of the street to ensure the safety of our patrols and those crossing.

Mountain View School Division is offering a free online Preschool Activity Time Program. Children born in 2019 are welcome to register. Click on the above link for the online registration form. Registration is required to receive your code to access a private video at your convenience. Supplies will be provided for you to pick up at your local elementary school!
