Due to the recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases in the Dauphin and surrounding area, Manitoba Public Health has advised that Mountain View School Division transition all schools in the City of Dauphin to full remote learning for a two-week period. Henderson Elementary School will now remain in remote learning until June 9, 2021 inclusive, unless a decision is made to extend the period of remote learning (after consultation with Public Health). On May 9th, Minister of Education Cliff Cullen and Provincial Medical Officer of Health Dr. Brent Roussin announced further measures in schools to reduce community transmission of COVID-19. Please click on the link for more information on how this impacts schools in Mountain View School Division.

May 21, 2021: Until further notice, the play structures at MVSD schools are intended for school use during regular school hours only, and will not be for community use at any time. MVSD staff will be placing signage at playground sites.

On May 17, 2021, MVSD was notified of a new case of COVID-19 associated with Henderson Elementary School; however, the individual was NOT present in the school during their period of communicability (POC) and there are no school-related close contacts. Therefore, no public health investigation in the school is required. The case will appear on the Manitoba COVID-19 Dashboard in the coming days. Click on the link for more details.

On May 13, 2021, Manitoba Public Health officials advised Henderson Elementary School of at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the school on May 5-7th. The school will re-open Friday, May 14th for students and staff who have not been identified as close contacts. For further details, please click on the link. On May 12, 2021, Public Health informed Henderson Elementary School of positive school-related cases of COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, HES will be closed Thursday, May 13th while we wait for Public Health to complete their investigation.
